Description

LCB Depot Brand Refresh

Introduction

LCB Depot is a dynamic, entrepreneurial hub for Leicester’s creative industries situate in Leicester’s cultural quarter, managed by Leicester City Council. LCB Depot exists to ‘remove barriers to creative business growth’, and currently supports over 700 creative SMEs.

Since it started in 2004, LCB Depot has expanded, and now provides:
•Creative workspaces across three sites in the cultural quarter – LCB Depot, Phoenix Square and Makers’ Yard
•Meeting and conferencing facility – 4 meeting rooms
•Creative Enterprise Hub – LCB Depot’s business support and networking programme for creatives
•A public café/bar and art gallery – providing networking and exhibition opportunities

LCB Depot will celebrate its 10 year anniversary next year so we are looking for a ‘light refresh’ and consolidation of our brand identity.

We do not require a new logo. These are the immediate deliverables we think we require:
•Development of the existing brand identity toolkit to include a simple and clear articulation of what LCB Depot does to support creative industries (4 areas detailed above), along with how we communicate in terms of tone of voice, personality, use of imagery, style guidance. We could draw from the heritage of LCB Depot as a building, which was previously an old bus depot, or from the creative activities and connections that take place in the building as hooks for inspiration. Any developments will need to be in line with the Council’s equal opportunities and communications standards.
•Refresh of the external street level window display/ vinyl, visible from Rutland Street
•Refresh of the interior look and feel of the ground floor reception area and courtyard, including internal way finding, use of blank wall space.
•Refresh of the public facing printed literature (take-away flyers held at reception) which have not changed since 2004. We require the design only, produced as print ready PDFs with a printing and paper spec for the Council’s in-house printers to follow. The leaflets will need to fit into standard A5 or A4 leaflet holders and postage envelopes. The initial print run will be at least 1000 per leaflet and must be printed on min. 75% recycled paper.
•Improve how we communicate events at LCB Depot – currently an A3 monthly ‘what’s on’ poster which is located on the wall by LCB Depot reception, and also printed in A5 and put in Perspex stands on café tables. The format should be easily editable using a PC.
•Although we do hold lots of photos, additional photography may be required. Please quote based on a half a day’s worth of photography.
