Description of the goods or services requiredHistoric Scotland (HS) is an Executive Agency of the Scottish Government and is responsible for advising Scottish Ministers about policy matters on Scotland’s built heritage, as well as managing some 345 properties in their care and fulfilling statutory obligations to protect ancient monuments and historic buildings in the ownership of others. The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments Scotland (RCAHMS) was established in 1908 by Royal Warrant and its mission is to help people to value and enjoy their surroundings, to provide a world-class record of the historic and built environment to local, national and international audiences, and to advance understanding of the human influence on Scotland’s places from earliest times to the present day. Both HS and RCAHMS receive funding from the Scottish Government to carry out their work as an agency and as a non-departmental public body (NDPB) respectively. In addition they both secure funds from commercial activities and other income streams, for example Heritage Lottery Fund. The functions of HS and RCAHMS will fully integrate by 1 October 2015 to form a new organisation, Historic Environment Scotland (HES). Playing a leading role in delivering the new Historic Environment Strategy for Scotland, Our Place in Time, it will enable more people to understand, care for and enjoy what Scotland has to offer, and will also help to ensure that we are able to protect what we have for generations to come. There is a strong expectation that HES will seek to secure charitable status. HES needs to develop a new organisational identity, with respect to a vision, mission and values. This identity needs to reflect the aspirations for the new body as outlined in the Historic Environment Scotland Act 2014 and in support of Our Place in Time, Scotland’s first strategy for the historic environment. This organisational identity then needs to be translated into verbal and visual identity at a corporate level for a variety of purposes across the new organisation both physically and digitally (cross channel and platform use). The new Organisational Identity must be in place for the launch of the new organisation on 1 October 2015 NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Public Contracts Scotland Web Site at http://www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=342998.
