The proposed Postgraduate Teaching Centre will be a modern bespoke facility aimed at providing a range of teaching and learning environments designed, furnished and equipped to address the needs of students enrolled on the Birmingham Business School’s premium-rated courses.

The University is looking to construct a new Post Graduate Teaching Centre for the Birmingham Business School, the building is to be located on the main campus in Edgbaston
The proposed Postgraduate Teaching Centre will be a modern bespoke facility aimed at providing a range of teaching and learning environments designed, furnished and equipped to address the needs of students enrolled on the Birmingham Business School’s premium-rated courses.
It is anticipated that the new centre will provide: a range of teaching and learning environments including:
1 x traditional ‘raked’ lecture theatre designed to accommodate 200 students;
1 x Harvard-style lecture designed to accommodate 100 students;
1 x flat-floored lecture room designed to accommodate 100 students;
2 x Computer Clusters, (with at least one being equipped as a ‘mock-trading floor’).
A range of seminar / syndicate rooms of varying capacity (10 – 50 persons) to offer break-out and small group teaching opportunities to the Business School.
A social learning environment equipped with facilities for group working, together with a café facility, (plus associated kitchen and storage areas).
A dedicated MBA lounge area, separate from the general social learning / café area.
2 x programme offices for non-academic staff associated with the provision of the courses, with associated meeting rooms situated nearby
limited storage facilities.
Plant rooms and hub room.
By its construction the Post Graduate Teaching Centre will offer a statement being an attractive feature for both the University and the Birmingham Business School.
