Description of the goods or services required

Construction of a single storey Flying Start Childcare Setting and co-located Multi Agency Facility, together with external play area and associated access and parking.

The building should be built using modern methods of onstruction but not modular.

The successful contractor will be required to become a Bridgend County Borough Council Approved Contractor.

Approximate value of the works is £500,000 and the start date is anticipated to be Mid January 2014. The contract is subject to the necessary design and planning approvals being obtained for the scheme.

The contract will be awarded based on the lowest price.

The procurement process to be followed is the Restricted Procedure. Contractors wishing to take part in the tender process will in the first instance express an interest by e-mailing procurementteam@bridgend.gov.uk for which they will receive a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) for completion.

The returned PQQ’s will be formerly evaluated, the outcome will result in a minimum of 5 contractors with the highest scores being invited to tender.
