Description of the contract

The project seeks to transform the appearance of the Entrance Hall at Apsley House. At present the Entrance Hall provides an unsatisfactory first impression for the visitor as it includes the provision of visitor facilities and shop, detracting from the grandeur of the hall itself. There are three key aspects to the work: removal of C20th mosaic tiling, consolidation of floor sub structure and reinstatement of Portland Stone floor in the Entrance Hall; reinstatement of historic decorative scheme including specialist finishes; and the inclusion of a new bespoke reception desk in the Inner Hall and associated amendments to the existing services.
