Description of the contract

Background Purpose of Role: The Business Analyst role within the ECR Design Team is essential to ensuring that the proposed solution for meeting TPR’s statutory objectives aligned to the 2008 Pensions Act is developed to be efficient, robust, and which ultimately enables employer compliance (without unnecessary increase of burden). Main Duties/ Responsibilities Core Accountabilities: • Designing lean value driven business processes e.g understanding value and waste concepts • Able to produce both big picture process maps and detailed value stream activity maps. • Eliciting business requirements and writing business design specifications, ensuring that requirement are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to standards. • Creating logical and innovative solutions to complex problems • Applying process costing techniques to proposed solution options and assessing them for both technical and business suitability; • Drawing up and presenting specific proposals and business cases for new process and systems. • Working closely with a variety of programme team members, stakeholders and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction • Communicating patterns of information to assist in identifying horizontal themes and sharing relevant information, • Co-ordinating enhancements/changes to existing systems/processes, including analysis, design, documentation, testing, end-user training and implementation. Outputs/ Deliverables to be achieved – Skills/ Experience Required Essential criteria: • Strong practical background in lean process design and techniques • Good understanding of data modelling methodologies and techniques e.g. physical information and data flows • Facilitation skills, to lead requirements elicitation workshops • First class business process mapping and modelling techniques • Strong background in the analysis of business systems and the definition of systems (computerised or otherwise). • Interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among programme stakeholders • Modelling skills and knowledge of product management concepts and how enterprise package solutions are positioned and developed • Experienced user of BA tools eg Visio, Systems Architect • Planning and working flexibly to a deadline • Likely to have experience across a range of business change and IT projects • Pensions Experience Formal Qualifications Required – Evaluation Criteria Competencies: • Identify, prioritise and plan effectively – Mentor • Deliver appropriate outcomes in line with our objectives – Mentor • Evaluate, learn, adapt and improve – Mentor • Understand our audience – Experienced • Communicate clearly – Experienced • Build good working relationships – Mentor • Respect others – Mentor • Take responsibility – Mentor • Behave professionally – Mentor
