Business Events and Marketing Tender Leicester

Business Events and Marketing Tender Leicester

The Business Development Team is keen to receive tenders from interested individuals with ideas as to the content, venue and speakers for the events to be delivered to their respective network community.

“Network Champions”
Events / marketing for sub-sector network groups
Leicester City Council’s LCB Business Development Team currently delivers four projects supporting business development primarily in the creative and knowledge economy across Leicester City.
Brief for the support
The LCB Business Development Team is currently looking for a number of “Network Champions” to deliver a series of 2-3 sector specific networking/speaker events aimed at supporting their particular creative or knowledge economy sub-sector network community.
The Business Development Team is keen to receive tenders from interested individuals with ideas as to the content, venue and speakers for the events to be delivered to their respective network community.
Themes for the events could include, learning from experience or inspirational leaders, experts discussing issues relevant to their particular creative or knowledge economy sub-sector, specific training, learning new techniques, how to monetise a hobby or lessons learned that may be helpful to people considering self-employment in that sector.
The Business Development Team would also like to take the opportunity, at one of these events, to get feedback on the particular support the sub-sector network community needs or would like to have to inform future support provision and services.
Each “Network Champion” will be responsible for suggesting the theme of each of the 2-3 events, sourcing each speaker in collaboration with the Business Development Team and suggest, agree and book the venue and promote the event to their specific network community.
Provisionally, The Business Development Team have identified the following networks and communities that they hope tender applicants will be delivering to:
• Filmmaking
• Creative writing
• Tech / digital / app development
• Music
• Web designers
• Designer Makers
• Sewing / needlework
• Fashion
• Architecture
• General Leicester-based creative or technology networks
This is not an exhaustive list and the Business Development Team would welcome tenders from other sub-sector groupings or communities in the creative or knowledge economy not represented above.
In addition, we are willing to consider a tender that includes a mixture of event/s and practical suggestions to help market the network of particular communities in these sectors.
Around 70% of creatives tend to have dyslexia, and this needs to be taken into account in planning the event.
The “Network Champion” will be responsible for:• Liaising with the Business Development Team
• Proposing the speakers (where applicable)
• Booking the venue
• Ordering refreshments (if appropriate)
• Attending and overseeing each event
• Marketing the event to the creative sub-sector community
Potential attendees may be centred in or around Leicester’s Cultural Quarter and, therefore, the location of the events should be carefully considered to maximise attendance. Other suggestions for venues will be considered, however, all venue suggestions must be based in Leicester City to comply with our funders guidelines.
These activities are being funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and therefore all documents relating to this activity will have to adhere to our funder’s guidelines, including the use of ERDF logos on any presentation slides and hand-outs.
