TENDER FOR CAPACITY BUILDING THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR SERVICE
Slough Borough Council wishes to invite tender applications for the provision of a Capacity Building the Voluntary Sector Service.
The Council is seeking tenders from organisations with the capacity and experience to  deliver specific outcomes to benefit Slough’s voluntary and community sector and ultimately Slough’s communities, in four defined areas:

  • ·         Outcome 1 – Capacity Building and Support;
  • ·         Outcome 2 –Co-ordination, Engagement and Representation;
  • ·         Outcome 3 – Encouragement and Development of Volunteering;
  • ·         Outcome 4 – Cooperation and Skills Transfer with the Business Sector.

Tender applications are invited from organisations that are established and have experience in the provision of Capacity Building and who have a strong local connection and who are within the Borough or who are able to locate within the Borough are invited to apply.
The funding for the Capacity Building contract will be £155,000 per annum and the contract will run for two years.
Whilst the Council will be providing funds to enable the new Service to operate, it will be independent of the Council.  The Council expects that partnership will be a critical success factor in the ethos and operation of the new Provider, to ensure that the needs of all Voluntary Sector groups are met most effectively by utilising the available expertise and enthusiasm.
The Council is seeking a new service by applying evaluation criteria which will ensure that:

  • ·         All voluntary groups have appropriate support available;
  • ·         The service is outcome driven and its value can be measured and evidenced;
  • ·         Partnership opportunities are maximised, for the benefit of all parties.

Slough Borough Council will be carrying this out as a single stage tender process and therefore there is no requirement to complete a Pre-Qualifying Questionnaire.
If you are interested in submitting a tender bid please download the accompanying documents and complete and submit them to the named contact person at the Council therein.

Closing date and time for completed documents to be received by the Council is

24th January 2012 at 12:00 noon
