Midlothian Council is looking for expressions of interest from suitably experienced organisations interested in providing care at home services for social care to Midlothian Council and Midlothian Health and Social Care Partnership.

The objective is for contracted providers to supply care at home services, which are personal services delivered to a service user in their own home. Care at home services will be provided for people at risk of harm who are assessed as needing support to maintain their independence, health and wellbeing. This may include people who are returning home from hospital, or would otherwise be admitted to hospital or long term care if support was not provided.

The service aims to support people to realise their rights to independence, choice and control, health, privacy and safety. This includes:

-supporting people to regain or maintain skills and confidence that allows them to live as independently as possible in their own homes

-supporting people to make choices wherever possible about the support they need to remain independent, and the way that support is delivered

-providing support with daily living tasks that enable people to retain the highest possible level of independence and to meet their personal outcomes

-providing support in a way that respects people’s rights to privacy and safety, non-discrimination and protection from abuse

-providing accessible and clear information for people about the support they receive, how to contact the service, and how to access independent advocacy

-working closely with Midlothian Health and Social Care Partnership home care service and other partner organisations to increase opportunities to meet people’s personal outcomes

This event will give you the opportunity to find out in more detail what Midlothian Council is planning to do and also about the procurement rules that will govern the tender process.
