To establish a Carer Support Service which will contribute to an improvement in the wellbeing of carers in the London Borough of Ealing, and strengthen and sustain carers in their caring roles and to support the Council to implement the new duties to Carers now in force under the Care Act 2014. The Carers Support Service (‘the Service’) will operate from April 2017 and will replace the current Carers’ Centre arrangements and formalise the range of services provided to carers.
The Service will support carers of people of all ages with all conditions and include, parent/carers of children and young people with disabilities, and Young Carers aged 8 to 18.

Requirements for staffing DBS checks and complying with various safeguarding requirements. The Provider will have, or will work towards achieving, the Quality Mark for Advice and Information. Advice Workers should participate in the Peer Support Group for Advice Workers (developed via ECN).The Provider must sign-up to the Social Care Commitment: ww.thesocialcarecommitment.org.uk and as per the criteria as stated in the procurement documents.

TUPE may apply to those staff currently undertaking service provision ,the service will be required to make use of the current carers centre at sycamore lodge in Acton and make use of the outreach accommodation at Elm Lodge.
