— reach more carers and young carers and successfully build trusted relationships with carers such that they are happy to engage in services that will support them and help sustain their role,
— prevent more young carers from providing inappropriate levels of care,
— have a targeted approach in meeting carers and young carers needs,
— improve the health and well being of carers and young carers,
— have an effective service which provides value for money.
The Council seeks a provider who will:
— be innovative in their delivery of support services,
— develop and maintain partnerships which involve local voluntary sector providers and other key stakeholders,
— consider how they can provide a strong voice to and brokerage support to carers and young carers,
— take a ‘whole family’ approach where appropriate to services that they deliver,
— apply a holistic approach to support being provided,
— focus on early identification and preventative support,
— support the corporate objectives of delivering economic growth and addressing inequalities in Barnet,
— ensure that the support is provided in the community and facilities in which carers already spend their time,
— personalise support to individual needs with a particular focus on those who are not currently receiving any services.
