North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) wishes to appoint a Framework Contract for planing and surfacing contractors. The Framework will be used to select suitable Suppliers to carry out planing and surfacing works on behalf of NYCC and others. The Framework will consist of four Lots:
Lot, Financial Scope, Geographical Coverage:
1. Surfacing > 5 000 GBP-250 000 GBP Harrogate, Richmondshire, Craven and Selby;
2. Surfacing > 5 000 GBP-250 000 GBP Hambleton, Ryedale, Scarborough and York;
3. Surfacing > 250 000 GBP-1 000 000 GBP York and North Yorkshire;
4. Surfacing > 1 000 000 GBP-5 000 000 GBP North Yorkshire and York.

2.1. North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) wishes to appoint a Framework Contract for planing and surfacing contractors. The Framework will be used to select suitable Suppliers to carry out planing and surfacing works on behalf of NYCC and others (please see Volume 3). The Framework will consist of four Lots:

— 1 Surfacing > 5 000 GBP-250 000 GBP Harrogate, Richmondshire, Craven and Selby;
— 2 Surfacing > 5 000-250 000 GBP Hambleton, Ryedale, Scarborough and York;
— 3 Surfacing > 250 000-1 000 000 GBP York and North Yorkshire;
— 4 Surfacing > 1 000 000 GBP-5 000 000 GBP North Yorkshire and York.
The work will vary in scale and be appropriate to the Lot value but predominately relate to carriageways and will include, but not be limited to: resurfacing, reconstruction, patching, overlays, road markings and any other related activity such as minor drainage and ironworks, kerbing and verge works.
There may also be a requirement for proprietary surfacing (for example anti-skid) and Highways Act Section 38 or Section 278 works on behalf of developers.
Works could take place on any roads maintained by the Clients e.g. works could take place on single lane carriageways, cul-de-sacs etc.
The above is not an exhaustive list of what works will be included in Package Orders. The scope of works included in Package Orders is likely to vary and may include a combination of the example works listed above. Full details of the individual requirements will be provided to Suppliers as part of the quotation procedure.
