Catering plays an essential part in the lives of residents at each Saxon Weald Scheme providing not just a wholesome and tasty meal each day but also an opportunity to mix with other residents in a relaxed social environment. Residents across the one retirement and nine Extra Care Schemes covered in this tender are mixed profile including some with special dietary needs, some with disabilities and a number with mild dementia. Saxon Weald supports its core philosophy of promoting the independence of its residents by undertaking a rich and diverse programme of engagement and activity with its residents, many of whom have a daily meal, served within a dedicated restaurant on each site as a condition of their tenancy. It is very important to residents that their meals are appropriate to their needs and produced using fresh, seasonal and, where possible, locally sourced ingredients. Saxon Weald are seeking a caterer who can meet these requirements in a cost effective way and actively promote the catering services to attract residents families and the local community, underpinning further the pivotal part catering plays in each Scheme.
