1) SCOPE (3 + 1 years contract)

To provide every pupil, member of staff and guests at Highfield Primary School who so requires a nutritionally balanced hot meal at lunchtime, breakfast and break time healthy snack that meets the food standards as laid out by 2014 No 1603 The Education (The Requirement for School Food Regulations (England) 2014.

2) Outputs

Provide an onsite catering provision for all pupils, members of staff and guests. There may be an opportunity to provide locals school with a delivered service.

Our purpose

There are three primary purposes for catering at Highfield Primary:

1) To provide and manage a sociable environment for students and staff to meet and eat together, enabling young people from different backgrounds to socialise in accessible surroundings, enhancing the staff and student experience and helping build a strong sense of community.

2) To provide value for money catering services for parents and to support the activities of the school.

3) To provide a nurturing environment to encourage healthy eating for our pupils on food education and wellbeing.

3) Service requirements

The provision of a hot lunchtime meal, for all children attending Highfield Primary School each day.

The service provider will:

— maintain a stable team of trained, dedicated, motivated and customer orientated personnel,

— be proactive and responsive to the changing needs and expectations of pupils, staff and customers,

— seek to develop and promote the service for the benefit of the academy,

— maximise the efficiency of the service,

— use recyclable materials and packaging wherever possible,

— provide allergy advice on all packaging where required.

In response to Covid-19 Highfield Primary has updated the tender evaluation process as a meal sampling stage will not take place due to social distancing measures. The updated tender process stays compliant to Covid-19 safety guidelines by aiming to take extra care to minimise risk to your staff and the staff at the school, therefore our updated process will put safety first.

The quality will be split into 3 sections, 30 % on a virtual multimedia submission to comply to social distancing, 30 % on method statement submitted by each bidder and a post tender award stage that will review the meal service at your school within the first month or at the first available opportunity. Please refer to the ITT as part of this tender pack for full details.
