The University of Brighton Academies Trust in its current form, was created after the University of Brighton Academies Trust and The Hastings Academies Trust merged in September 2017. The two Trusts had worked closely together for several years, under a single central management team.
The Trust and our academies benefit from nearly ten years of experience supporting schools. We were one of the first multi-academy Trusts sponsored by a university and continue to see positive results from the University of Brighton’s involvement.
By working together and sharing ideas, insights and best practice, our academies support each other to improve. It is important to us that our academies have a positive impact on their communities and that pupils understand the role they can play in the wider world.
As an organisation:
We want excellence for our pupils and their families, our staff and our academies’ communities. We believe that education transforms lives.
We work with integrity. We recognise the unique character of each of our academies and tailor the support we provide to suit the individual academy and its pupils. We respect all cultures and beliefs and believe in honesty and openness.
Innovation is key. We constantly strive to improve. Our pupils’ experience is enriched by the contribution of the University of Brighton and its School of Education.
The tender project is seeking to appoint a contractor whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of service within the existing facilities for the 7 753 students on roll and 1 146 teaching and support staff, with a focus on exciting new food concepts to satisfy a wide range of pupil tastes and dietary requirements and to be committed to maximising free school meals entitlement take up for some of our most vulnerable students. The Trust wishes the successful contractor to review the current range of services offered and make recommendations accordingly.
The contract being tendered is for 3 years in duration from 1 August 2020 to 31 July 2023 with the option to extend for a further 2 years at the discretion of the client.
