Description of the goods or services required

Works package forms part of the refurbishment and alteration of existing building structures with the addition of a new extension blocks.

Disconnection and removal of existing and the Supply and Installation of New Fire Alarm, CCTV and Intruder Alarm Systems in accordance with Specification, Drawings Reference E(60)01, E(65)01, E(67)01,E(67)02 & E(67)03 and Bills of Quantity.

The tenderers are advised that the attached Fire Alarm Forms must be completed and entered into the Operation & Maintenance Manual prior to hand-over.

Tenderers are reminded that a Formal Demonstration of all systems to the Building Occupiers after hand-over forms part of this contract refer Bill No.2 Items W70 and W71.

Tenderers are advised that this is a Multi-Trade Site and other contractors shall be on site.

Any questions and/or proposals must be submitted via PCS, no later than indicated later.

The main works include the creation of a new staffroom and hall extension to an existing Primary School.

All works shall be executed within an existing school building and the associated areas.

There is a tight programme within the live school with limited site access.

Close attention must be paid to construction phasing, and should have a just in time policy as there is limited storage and setting down facilities onsite. There will be limitations on delivery times throughout the working day and no additional costs will be incurred through this.

There is also limited contractors parking and this should be bourn in mind at all times.

It is recommended to visit the site to fully acquaint yourself with the full extent of the nature of the works for all labour, material and plant to be included within your tender.

Any additional costs will not be entertained for lack of such knowledge. Permission to view for these works can be obtained by first contacting 08451 555 555 Ext 473165 to obtain permission and inform the appropriate site management.

Please note you should allow in your tender packages for all necessary propping and shoring of the existing structures where necessary to allow fully for the alterations to the existing building.

You will be responsible for moving and transporting your own materials about the site.

Tenderers will be responsible for the removal and disposal of all their own rubbish and waste in line with the relevant criteria indicated in this document.

All Fife Council Building Services, Construction sites operate a five point PPE system.

Please note the Site will be run under the Considerate Constructors scheme.

All works should be carried out under normal working site hours. No Overtime working will be allowed unless specifically requested and instructed by the Project Supervisor on site through our CVI process. Should you fall behind with the agreed program there will be no reimbursement for any overtime working should you fall behind the agreed program.
