The Fareham and Gosport CCTV Partnership was established in 1997 by Fareham Borough Council and Gosport Borough Council (‘the Councils’) to jointly manage and operate a network of approximately 93 CCTV cameras via a single Control Room based in Gosport. The Control Room and camera systems operating systems were upgraded from analogue to digital in 2009. The Contractor is to supply properly trained, licensed and accredited CCTV monitoring staff in line with the requirements of the Private Security Industry Act 2001 (‘the PSIA’) and comply with future legislative requirements regarding the licensing of operators to operate public space surveillance systems to be located at the Councils CCTV facility. The supervisory or management provision of the CCTV monitoring staff and service will be carried out by the Contractor to ensure compliance with British Standards 7958 and 7858.
The Contractor will hold and maintain a licence issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) or EU equivalenthttp://www.sia.homeoffice.gov.uk/Pages/about-us.aspx in order to carry out the service for the Councils’. The Contractor will provide a copy of the current SIA licence the CNO throughout the life of the contract.
