The contractor/s shall provide a comprehensive maintenance service, including planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and repairs, for medical devices currently numbering approximately 4500 across the boroughs of Barnet, Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster. The medical devices fall under the following lots: 1. General – anesthetic machine, Apnoea monitors, Electric beds, Audiometers, Blood pressure monitors, Capnograph, clinical thermometers, couches & plinths, curing lights, defibrillators, various Dental equipment, Diagnostics sets, Diathermy, Ear irrigators, ECG machines, Flowmeters & Cylinder regulators, Hoists, Hyfrecator, Infusion pumps, INR machines, Nail drills, Nebulisers, Operating table,Patient monitors, Plaster Saw, Saturation machines, Smoke evacuators, Spirometers, Suction units, Syringe drivers, Tourniquet, Treadmills, Tympanic Thermometers, Ultrasound machines and handheld devices, Urine Analysers & Wheelchairs. 2. Weighing Scales CLCH recognises that the safe and appropriate use of medical devices is critical to the delivery of high quality health care. Medical devices and patient equipment are used every day by healthcare staff to support the diagnosis, care and treatment of patients. Effective management of medical devices mitigates harm related to their use, ensuring their clinical effectiveness, as well as patient and staff safety. The Trust is required to provide assurance of its compliance with the standards of regulatory bodies, such as the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and NHS Litigation Authority (NHSLA), that all patient equipment is maintained in good working order and that staff are competent in its use.
