Challenging Behaviour Training Contract
A range of levels of training are required, not all staff need to be trained to the highest level.

Currently the Challenging Behaviour training is provided in 4 levels for staff supporting people who present with behaviour which is challenging and this is a mandatory requirement. The main staff groups accessing this training are NYCC HAS Learning Disability in-house provider services and Mental Health services.
Overview for 2016/17 period
A range of levels of training are required, not all staff need to be trained to the highest level.
The overall levels are:
- Level 1 Understanding, preventing and managing challenging behaviour
- Level 2 Responding to low risk physically challenging behaviour
- Level 3 Responding to higher risk physically challenging behaviour
- Level 4 Physical intervention skills and safe holding
- Refresher for those trained to level 3 & 4
