Description of the contract

Chichester District Council is currently responsible for the maintenance of 29 “off street” car parks throughout the district. There are approximately 6453 parking bays in total. Future changes may mean we become responsible for some “on street” parking as well and the successful Contractor will be responsible for that element of works also. THE WORK The works will be a mix of but not limited to; • Replace worn, damaged sections of car park markings as/when/if requested • Strip and/or replace car park markings as/when/if requested • Reinstate car park markings to acceptable standard as/when/if instructed • Design and mark car park layout as/when/if requested Works shall be divided into 2 categories, 1) Emergency works = these must be started within 3 days of request. 2) Non-emergency works = start times to be agreed with the Employer. Whilst this is the first contract we have entered into for this type of works we expect the annual spend to be between £20,000 and £30,000. This amount is not guaranteed and should only be used as a guide. The value of the contract may change if the responsibility of the Council alters but the overall sum for the 5 year period will not exceed the current EU threshold of £174,000. Should the contract spend approach that sum before the end of the contract period the Council reserves the right to notify the Tenderer that it will have to carry out a public procurement exercise and retender for the work. The Council would, in those circumstances start a new contract at the next anniversary of the contract start date with the successful tenderer.
