Key improvements from engagement for the CAMHS delivery pathway include: • A strategic lead provider who provides a seamless pathway access to other providers with managed risk for targeted and specialist services • single point of access where all referrals made are accepted and child/young people and family supported in the right service – ‘no wrong door’ approach • access times extended and flexible to meet demand, including weekends • Shorter waiting times. • Joined up, integrated care across health, education and social care. • Choice appointments and increased participation of children and young people. • Service capacity and capability flexible to meet need. • Improved crisis management. • An emotional and behavioural problems and disorders pathway led and managed by CAMHS responsible for diagnosis; medication management and therapeutic interventions for 6-18 year olds. • 16-25 year olds pathway for young people known to specialist CAMHS not accessing adult mental health services and who can self refer.
