Description of the contract

Children’s Commissioner’s Takeover Day is a national event organised by the Office of the Children’s Commissioner. The day provides opportunities for: Promoting Article 12 of the UNCRC – all children have the right to have their voice heard in the decisions that affect their lives and for their views to be taken seriously. Encouraging children and young people to get involved in decision making by getting alongside adults in schools and across a range of public, private and voluntary sector organisations and acts as a catalyst for further opportunities to promote Article 12. Highlighting the positive impact involving children and young people can have at influencing and improving strategic, organisational and individual levels of performance and service delivery. Showcasing good practice. A number of bodies adopt the day across their organisation and provide high quality participation opportunities. Raising awareness and understanding of the UNCRC and the role and function of the Children’s Commissioner for England and her office. Promoting positive perceptions of children and young people across local communities and nationally.
