The centre, which is being established at the University’s Clifton campus, will be new build and enabling works are anticipated to commence Easter 2016 with construction following on to enable Practical Completion to be achieved in Summer 2017.
The Interdisciplinary STEM Teaching and Engagement Centre project will be split into lots which will be tendered on a staggered basis as and when documentation becomes available, through the Intend system. New Contract Notices will be issued for Lot/s when tendered. This Contract notice covers the following Lot 39 Cladding.
Current/Future lots may include but are not restricted to the following:
Lot 1 — Bulk excavation and Cart away — Approx. 2 500 m³;
Lot 2 — Ground works — Concrete Foundations lift pits and retaining walls, drainage and ground floor slab, external works;
Lot 4 — Steel Frame from ground floor slab to roof;
Lot 5 — Concrete Deck — Steel concrete decking to form 1st floor and roof deck;
Lot 6 — Fire Protection to steel frame elements;
Lot 7 — BWIC core drilling, fire stopping, secondary steel etc.;
Lot 8 — Steel and secondary steel — plant screens to roof, riser platforms, handrails and balustrades;
Lot 9 — Screed approximately 1 600 m² of floor screed to 1st floor to include all sundries and pumping;
Lot 11 — Roof — approximately 1600 m² of roof finish including insulation, roof lights, roof access, gutters and fall arrest systems;
Lot 12 — Masonry brickwork, blockwork and sundries Approximately 1 500 m² of facing Brickwork and 1 600 m² of inner skin blockwork. Potential additional works to internal walls circa 3 500 m² of internal blockwork;
Lot 13 — Curtain walling, windows and external doors, approx. 110 m² curtain walling, approx. 550 m² of windows and external doors;
Lot 14 — Glazed Partitions internal glazed partitions and doors approx. 220 m²;
Lot 15 — Internal doors Single solid core doors 70No. Leaf and a half doors 9No. Double doors 4No Paint grade W.C doors 32No;
Lot 16 — Partitions — dry lining skim to external walls approximately 1 600 m²;
Lot 17 — Ceramic tiling to splash backs and W.Cs approximately 400 m²;
Lot 18 — IPS panelling to 32No W.Cs;
Lot 19 — Decoration Walls, ceilings and doors etc;
Lot 20 — Whiterock hygienic finish to walls Approximately 2 250 m²;
Lot 21 — Self levelling screed 1 700 m²;
Lot 22 — Resin flooring Approximately 1 300 m²;

1)Short description
The centre, which is being established at the University’s Clifton campus, will be new build and enabling works are anticipated to commence Easter 2016 with construction following on to enable Practical Completion to be achieved in summer 2017
The project will be split into lots which will be released for tender on a staggered basis. The extend and scope of the lots is based on the current design stage which is on going and may alter as the design progresses and is finalised. Lot 39 is for Cladding.

Project Synopsis.
A new Interdisciplinary STEM Teaching and Engagement Centre (ISTEC) will contain state-of-the-art laboratories for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. It will also support the University’s schools, colleges and community outreach activities, while providing important facilities for industry and a platform for wider collaboration.
The centre, which is being established at the University’s Clifton campus, will be new build and enabling works are anticipated to commence Easter 2016 with construction following on to enable Practical Completion to be achieved in summer 2017.
