Applications are invited from suitably experienced service providers for routine and reactive cleaning services at bus stations and other premises in our Estate. It is anticipated that the service will be required for the period from 1.5.2012 to 30.4.2016. This period may be extended by up to 2 years at our absolute discretion.
The Contracting Authority, the Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive is the administrative arm of the Merseyside Integrated Transport Authority. The successful tender may be required to provide the service to both the Executive and the Authority and any subsidiary companies. The service provider will however enter into only one agreement with the Executive.

The Executive takes the view that the European Acquired Rights Directive 77/187/EEC (as amended by 2001/23/EC) and/or the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 could potentially apply to the Contract. If the Directive and/or the Regulations are held to be applicable then Tenderers should take into account the following requirements of the Directive:
(a) the need to consult with a recognised trade union;
(b) the need to maintain existing rates of pay and conditions of employment of employees currently employed in providing services to the Executive;
(c) the need for the successful tenderer to accept liability in respect of claims for redundancy, unfair dismissal and all other claims related to such employees;
(d) to make adequate provision for the full compliance with the aforementioned Directive and/or Regulations;
(e) to expedite the requirements of the Directive and/or Regulations with due diligence.
