Description of the contract
Lancaster University is seeking to procure a Clerk of Works to help deliver a new Department of Chemistry within the existing Faraday Building. Reflecting the growing popularity of Chemistry at Lancaster and its aspiration to deliver high quality teaching and research, the newly refurbished areas will provide a first class environment which contains specially designed research laboratories, teaching laboratories, specialised instrument rooms and office areas. The Faraday Building refurbishment work incorporates over 4,800m² of gross internal floor area with a construction cost circa £11M. The design is premised on ‘live labs’ which will deliver teaching and research in physical, non-synthetic and synthetic chemistry, supporting high quality research such as NMR spectroscopy, renewable energy, chemical engineering and manufacturing. This tender is divided into 2 Lots, you may bid on Lot 1 or Lot 2 or BOTH; Lot 1 Clerk of Works for the building fabric. Lot 2 Clerk of Works for mechanical and electrical services. As part of this tender we have included the latest floor plans and a selection of Room Data Sheets (RDS) which give an understanding of the project make up including finishes and the current programme.
