Description of the contract
Ofgem seeks to understand what are the most effective mechanisms to encourage customers to open, read and retain communications from service providers, including utility providers, financial services and similar organisations. We are keen to build on previous research that focused on content design to consider broader prompts relevant to the context in which written communications are received and potentially retained (e.g. the impact of envelope design, timing of receipt and accompanying nudges such as text messaging). We also need to consider how the success of interventions varies across different consumer segments and typologies. We would like to commission a scoping review of the existing evidence base through an examination of secondary research and best practice, and engagement with experts, academics, practitioners and other relevant sources of authority, however we are open to suggestions for the most appropriate approach to meet our objectives. The invitation to tender for this work will be issued either on the afternoon of Friday 27th July or on Monday 30th July.
