Rotherham MBC are seeking to identify a potential partner to develop a community energy switching scheme through a concession contract.
The community energy switching scheme would be open to all Rotherham residents and the aim of the scheme is to reduce the number of households paying high tariffs for gas and electricity and consequently reduce fuel poverty.
The awarded service provider will work with the Council to market and communicate the best available tariff and encourage potential customers who will benefit financially to switch to one of the tariffs. The service provider will work with customers to ensure they remain on the most competitive tariff available. The offer will be marketed and communicated through a variety of mediums to target all residents including homes in fuel poverty and hard to reach communities.

It is anticipated that the contract will commence on 1 March 2021 and will run for a period of 3 years making the expiry date 28 February 2024. The contract will have an option to extend by 1 x 24-month extension at the sole discretion of the Council making the latest possible expiry date 28 February 2026.
