Description
Cambridgeshire County Council is inviting applications from organisations wishing to tender for inclusion on an Approved List of Providers for the provision of Community Support Services for Children and Young People aged 0-19 years with a Disability in Cambridgeshire.
The Council has well established Community Support arrangements for children and young people delivered each year by the Council and independent providers in a variety of settings to the with approximate value of £40,000 minimum per year. The Council is seeking to renew and develop its approved list of providers who can provide this service with a high level of quality and consistency.
Following on from the successful Aiming High programme and implementation of the Short Break Duty there are new challenges ahead. Cambridgeshire is in the process of implementing Personal Budgets for all disabled children supported through Short Breaks and Social Care. Providers will need to demonstrate flexibility in their approach to service delivery and partnership working as new ways of supporting children and young people are developed.
Providers must be registered as a ‘Domiciliary Care’ Provider with the Care Quality Commission to be considered for inclusion on the list.
We would welcome applications from a range of providers to cover all aspects of community support. We have divided the work into the following categories: –
– Support with Personal Care and day to day living tasks (usually in the child/young persons home)
– Support with accessing Short Break activities (an element of personal care may be required)
– Support to young people aged 14 + years (bridging the gap between children and adult services, an element of personal care may be required)
– Support to children and young people with significant sensory impairment (an element of personal care may be required)
– Support to children and young people who have high support needs in relation to their behaviour (an element of personal care may be required)
Providers are invited to Tender for any combination of the categories.
The Contract will run for a period of three years with possible further extension of two years. The approved list will be open on a six monthly basis and new Providers can apply to join the list throughout this period. For Contracts beginning on the 01 June 2012 Providers are requested to apply within the tendering timescales provided.
