Complex Families – Data Project
The project is designed to provide a quantitative understanding of local service use in order to complement developing work on delivering a Community Budgets approach to complex families.

The government estimates that there are 220 complex families in Bath and North East Somerset and stage one of the project has been to identify who they are.  Early work with key practitioners from four agencies has identified over 300 individuals who are members of complex families. However the overlap between these top families appears to be small; with only 10 being present in the records of multiple agencies. However due to the qualitative nature of the collection, data quality is poor.

We have identified an additional number of data sources which we want to mine in order to increase our understanding, not just of our most complex families, but of other lower risk households who may also require a different approach.
