Background/Contract Scope:
As part of the Homegroup IS Strategy Home Group IS are delivering a Project to refresh our Desktop Estate.

This project is part of the IS Technical Refresh Programme which forms part of the IS Portfolio of Programmes. Another tender has been published to cover the provision of Lync compatible Hardware, IS Hardware Framework and User Migration and Installation resource. This tender has been published on the www.housingprocurement.com portal as a separate framework, with contract award expected in October 2014.

Desktop Equipment Refresh:
This will support the on-going supply (including standard imaging as provided by Home Group) of new Desktop Hardware Equipment, which will be of a specification to support Windows 8.1 as well as additional specifications to be defined at a later date.
The current high level timelines call for the refresh of the Desktop Estate to take place from December 2014 to August 2015.
Whilst a full verification process is still to take place, a current estimate of a mixed estate of 3500 Desktops/Laptops being deployed across our sites in the UK would be a fair summary. However, due to growth initiatives that Home Group are currently bidding for, this number may increase. More specific figures which will be defined within the ITT documentation, the above is a guide.
