The PCC of St Swithun’s Church, Lewisham is seeking expressions of interest from contractors with suitable conservation qualifications for the repair of the Nave and South Aisle West leaded windows of the church of St Swithun’s, Hither Green, Lewisham, South London.
The works are grant aided by English Heritage and the net value of the works will be in the region of GBP160,000.00 to GBP180,000.00. They involve extensive repairs to the window’s delicate stone work, complete re-glazing and localised repairs to the West facades brick work, stone work and rainwater good as well as localised slate roof repairs; all of which using traditional construction/conservation techniques and materials.

Amongst other qualifications the contractor will be required to be registered with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), supply CVs and examples of relevant work, demonstrate experience in the implementation and management of historic stone and glass repairs.

Following an assessment of the PQQ a shortlist of no more than 5 contractors will be invited to formally tender for the repair works which are intended to commence in late July/early August 2013.
No liability of cost will be accepted for the work involved in making a submissions and no guarantee is given that any contract will be offered.
Completed PQQ’s must be returned no later than 12 noon on Wednesday 22nd May 2013 (please discard the OJEU date)
