Gunnersbury Park is a nationally important site, with some wonderful places, assets and stories within it. The Park is entering a new chapter of its life, with a planned 48 000 000 GBP of investment to be made over the coming years, as part of a phased approach.
The aims of the project, are to transform Gunnersbury Park to increase the range of audiences and number of visitors to 1 000 000 per annum
The project has two identifiable strands, in relation to capital works:
1) Refurbishing the existing mansion building and installing a new exhibition fit-out to the building; demolishing the existing, and building a new, café adjacent to the mansion.
2) Refurbishing the historic core parkland and associated parkland structures; renewing hard landscaping; augmenting soft landscaping; water management works and creating new pond and installing new park furniture and interpretation.

Description of particular conditions: The form of contract is expected to be the JCT SBC/XQ Standard Building Contract without Quantities incorporating the Contract Authorities specific amendments, preceded by a pre-construction agreement.
Under the proposed building and pre-construction contracts the Contracting Authority reserves the right to:
nominate and appoint the London Borough of Hounslow in its place as sole employer,
be the joint employer under the building contract with:
a subsidiary company owned jointly by the Contracting Authority and the London Borough of Hounslow,
any other legal entity sufficiently identified as a funder under the building contract including the London Borough of Hounslow.
