Aston University is currently out to tender for the provision of a consultants framework for design services to cover the following disciplines;
Lead Consultant/Project Manager/Option for Contract Administrator, Lead Consultant/Architect/Contract Adminstrator, Architect/Option for Contract Administrator, Structural Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, CDM Co-ordinators, Mechanical and Electrical Services, Lead Consultant/ Mechanical and Electrical Services/Contract Administrator. There will be three value bands; Band 1 – 25 000 GBP to 500 000 GBP, Band 2 – 500 001 GBP to 5 000 000 GBP, and Band 3 – 5 000 001 GBP to 10 000 000 GBP. Each of these Bands will have sub-bands. Project Management will not be included in the first two bands.
Tenderers that would like to take part in this tender process are invited to ‘Express Interest’, via the ‘In-Tend’ e-tendering portal upon which they will be given access to the pre-qualification documentation through our e-tendering system. Expressions of interest will only be accepted until 1.5.2014, 12:00 pm and the deadline for submissions of the pre-qualification questionnaire will be 6.5.2014.

Payment will be as per Aston University’s standard terms and condition, which are the end of the calendar month following the month in which services are performed provided a correct invoice is received. All tenderers will be required to agree to this.

Aston University has adopted Constructionline methodology for demonstrating financial risk and technical capability and Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) as its vehicle for health and safety assessment. Constructionline is the UK government owned certification service for construction-related contractors, consultants and material suppliers, and has been developed to save the industry millions of pounds by reduciung duplication in the pre-qualification process.
Constructionline registered suppliers need only to provide their Constructionline registration number, question number 3 of our pre-qualification questionnaire and complete the technical questions. However your constructionline membership must be relevant to the lots and value bands you are applying for.

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if the requirements are met: This will be assessed in the pre-qualification questionnaire, but will include an evaluation of statement of the Company’s overall turnover and the turnover related to similar activities to be covered by this agreement for the previous financial years.
The contract requires minimum of 10 000 000 GBP insurance cover for Employers Liability, 5 000 000 GBP insurance cover for Public Liability, and 5 000 000 GBP for Professional Indemnity.
