Coleg Sir Gar is seeking to award a contract for cleaning services on all of its 5 campuses which are located in Carmarthenshire.
A full and detailed specification will be provided to the shortlisted bidders in the ITT. The contract will be for a term of 5 years commencing at the earliest 1.8.2016.
The incumbent supplier is MITIE Cleaning Services. TUPE will apply to this contract.
Accommodation to be cleaned includes standard teaching / classrooms, workshops for a wide range of activities such as hair salons, carpentry workshops, art workshops etc., offices, library areas, refectories / coffee shops, toilet and wet room facilities. The College has an extensive range of various floor, wall and furniture finishes within its buildings and the Contractor will be expected to have the knowledge, expertise, workforce and equipment to ensure high standards are achieved and maintained. Assistance will also be required with emptying of rubbish bins and adhering the Colleges recycling programme.
The College is seeking innovative bids that are financially attractive in realising savings, offers best value and is “sustainable, whilst the standard of appearance and cleanliness is of great importance.
Cleaning will be required for between 37 and 51 weeks per annum, dependant on accommodation type. Access to buildings will be available from 6:30 onwards. Consideration will be given to either morning and / or late afternoon cleaning programmes to ensure the College achieves their requirements. There will also be requirements for holiday cleans, annual cleans, high level cleans and bespoke cleaning requests.
A daytime Janitor service will be required at Ammanford, Graig and Pibwrlwyd campuses.
There will be regular campus inspections and audit checks with the Contractor reporting on key performance indicators at Contract meetings which must be held on a regular basis.
