The Council’s waste and recycling collection service requires a variety of different waste bins for collection of the different waste streams. All of these bins are currently delivered and collected on behalf of the Authority by an external Supplier, utilising an appointment system.
New bins are delivered at new build locations or where more waste capacity is required by the customer. Damaged or contaminated bins are collected for repair and replaced with working bins.
Timely delivery and removal of wheeled bins is an essential supporting service to discharge our statutory duty as a Waste Collection Authority.
The contract for the delivery and collection of these wheeled bins is due to expire; therefore the Authority is tendering the service with the intention of awarding a new contract to a single Supplier.
