- The Council of the London Borough of Redbridge (“the Authority”) invites Tenders from suitably qualified and experienced organisations for a Contract for Furniture Removal and Storage in the London Borough of Redbridge (“the Contract”). The Contract will commence on 1st September 2014 and shall continue, subject to earlier termination in accordance with the Conditions of Contract, up to and including 31st August 2017 with the option thereafter, at the Authority’s entire discretion, of extension for up to two (2) years. When an applicant has been registered as homeless by the Authority and subsequently has to leave their home, it is the Authority’s duty, under Part VII of the 1996 Housing Act, to protect their possessions. The Contract comprises the provision of a comprehensive service to remove, store for as long as is necessary, and deliver applicants’ furniture and personal belongings to a new address as required.
