The full scope of the Contract is the Multi Utility (District Heating and Private Wire) Services works associated with the Gateshead District Energy Scheme.
The scope of works covers the provision of new district heating and private networks between the Energy Centre and the Customer sites/plant areas.
The works cover the following:
— District Heating (CW) network
— Private Wire (PW) network
— Fibre optic network
— Leak detection system
— Energy Centre electrical supply
— Energy Centre gas supply
The Council is seeking to appoint a Contractor to deliver the following work packages :-
District Heating Network (specialist design)
Private Wire Network (specialist design)
Customer Transformers and Switchgear (specialist design)
Fibre Optic Cabling (specialist design)
Incoming Supplies for Energy Centre – contestable works (specialist design)
The contract period stated is for the extent of the works for the initial phase of the project to serve approximately 9 buildings which is envisaged to be in the region of GBP 5,5m in value. However, future phases may be required to include additional developments on Baltic Quays and Gateshead Centre.

A performance bond is required. The bond shall be provided via a bondsman approved by the Employer for a sum equal to 10% of the contract sum. The format of the Bond is to be as contained within the Tender Documentation. Expiry of the Bond will occur not less than 24 months after practival completion
