University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is running a market sounding exercise to engage with suitably experienced and qualified service providers who wish to participate in the procurement for the provision of a Managed Cath Labs Service.
The Trusts mission is to create a healthcare organisation that is recognised nationally for delivering safe, high quality patient care and an outstanding experience for patients. UHB are seeking a provider to deliver a managed service solution for the four Cardiology Catheter Laboratories where the supplier is responsible for the provision of the Cath Lab service contract and the service level specifications required therein. The Trust expects to retain control over the choice of equipment and consumables purchased by the provider to deliver this Cath Lab service.
The Provider will work with the Cardiology speciality to maintain financial discipline through minimising waste, duplication and to ensure processes within the cath labs remain as efficient and productive as possible.
The existing Cath Lab suite comprises four fully equipped Cath Labs. The service provided must be robust and capable of delivering the required volumes and quality of service at all times, including through periods of equipment replacement and any associated building works.
The provider’s own staff (where required) would manage the delivery of the contract (e.g. maintenance of equipment, management of stock levels and ordering); the Trust would retain control over clinical decision making.
