Wyre Forest District Council is seeking proven and established providers able to supply a replacement resilient SAN and virtualised environment, along with on-going service support for a 5 year period. Suppliers need to display they can meet the key requirements set out below:
Reliability – The solution must provide a very high level of availability. The solution must offer good support preferably pro-active support.
Compatibility – The solution must be compatible with the council current infrastructure and meet PSN compliance.
Stability – The solution should come from a supplier well established in the storage market place and clear intention to remain in this market.
Expansion – The solution should be capable of future expansion to meet the Councils increasing storage requirements.
Value for Money – The solution should offer best value to the Council in terms of both purchase and ongoing running costs.
Management – The solution must be designed to be for centrally managed and easy to setup and maintain with minimum system downtime.

The requirement is to replace its existing HDS AMS2300 SAN (30Tb usable) and 7 HP DL380 G6 virtual hosts in the live environment and also potentially change the HDS AMS2300 and 5 hosts at the DR site as well. Any configuration which meets the requirements/SLA’s of the Authority as set down in the forthcoming tender, is fully PSN compliant and can make significant cost saving over the preferred option will be considered. Any new environment will be required to be fully compatible with VMware 5.1/5.5 and SRM. In addition the Council is looking to replace the current Asigra backup system, this will also be included within the scope of this project.
