Bield is looking to award a contract for delivery of our Cooker Installation Programme for 2013 to 2019 – Supply and Installation. Our intention is to award this contract for a period of 5 years from 1.4.2013 to 31.3.2018 however the programme may be delivered in a shorter timescale than this depending on annual budget allocation, other workload and contractor capacity. This will be fully discussed with the successful contractor(s). We are looking to appoint electrical contractors who will be required to supply and install cookers within our developments. The cookers will be specified by Bield in consultation with the successful contractor(s). Details of the current models used will be provided at the Invitation to Tender stage. A range of 3 cookers will be provided for our tenants to select from. Currently each tenant within our Housing Developments is provided with a Cooker which is subsequently maintained by Bield. A decision was taken that this practice will cease and tenants will, in future, be required to provide their own cooking facilities. All existing cookers that are under 10 years old will be replaced over the next five years and these will then be gifted to tenants. Bield will then no longer take responsibility for maintaining or replacing these. Details of the planned programme is provided at Appendix A and details of all our locations by area and postcode is provided at Appendix B. The total value of this contract over the entire period will be approximately 625 000 GBP. This is an estimated figure. The contract will be split into four separate lots as follows. A total of 5 suppliers will be taken through to the tender stage for each lot. A single supplier will then to be awarded per lot. Contractors may win more than 1 lot but no single contractor will be awarded all lots.
