NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board have approximately 39,000 employees and cover a vast geographical area. It consists of Acute in-patient and out-patient services, Community Health Partnerships, Community Health and Care Partnerships and Mental Health Partnership.

The organisation values its employees and understands that employees can face difficult situations both at home or at work. The availability of a counselling service has been proven to be of benefit to the organisation by providing its employees with an opportunity for expert assistance to enable them to manage their situation in an effective manner.

The core aims of the service are:

To offer a confidential counselling service for the employees of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde,

To deliver the service via a self referral basis or management referral,

To deliver a service that promotes positive emotional health and well being.

The budget allocated to deliver this service must not exceed £84,000 per annum.
