Portsmouth City Council (the ‘Council’) is seeking to procure a contract for the provision of cruise ship support services at Portsmouth International Port (the ‘Port’).
The estimated value of the contract is GBP 295 000. The Council is aiming to award the contract by end of December 2014 in order to allow for service commencement by 1.4.2015.
The contract will run for an initial three year term extendable by a further two years in increments to be agreed to make a total maximum term of five years, subject to the agreement and performance of both parties.
The deadline for submission of requests for clarification is 12.9.2014 23:59 with the deadline for submission of completed tender responses following on 3.10.2014 14:00.

The cruise ship support services required at summary level are as follows:
— Baggage handling services,
— Passenger liaison,
— Crane supply and operation for the shore gangway.
The Port is wholly owned by the Council. It is situated at the end of the M275 and currently occupies some 17.6 hectares (44 acres). During the calendar year of 2013, 2,006,747 ferry and cruise passengers, 636,720 passenger vehicles and 219,963 freight units passed through the Port using a variety of facilities.
In April 2011 the Port opened a prestigious new cruise ship & ferry terminal building and now offers state of the art facilities to the travelling public. The Port has been developing its cruise ship offer in recent years and has a forward strategy of continued growth within this market sector.
