Description of the contract

Pant yr Esk Culvert is located at Woodland Terrace, West End, Newbridge and discharges into the Ebbw river. There are multiple defects along its length requiring a different approach to its repair.

The concrete pipe to the north of the site shown on drawing SO398/02 is a 900mm in diameter with longitudinal cracking and deformation. The contractor is to propose a design of which will agreed by CCBC, Engineering Projects Group, Structures Section.

The masonry arch and barrel to the south of the site shown on drawing SO398/02 has multiple areas of scour to the invert and voiding to the soffit. These areas will need to be filled with a cement grout/concrete with a Sika underwater anti washout additive or equivalent to stop the further deterioration of the culvert.

Tender documentation is attached to this notice for contractors to complete. Tenders shall be returned in accordance with the Instructions for Tendering (I4T).

Contractors are to send in the Tendering Confirmation Certificate in order to inform CCBC of their intention to tender/ expression of interest such that if there are any tender amendments/ clarifications they can be informed.

It is at the contractors own risk if they do not submit the Tendering Confirmation Certificate to inform CCBC of their intentions.

The tender assessment is based on cost /quality. The evaluation is detailed within the I4T. The contractor must supply with their tender all the information requested.
