Description of the contract

A critical component of the British Film Institute’s Unlocking Film Heritage project is the creation of a Digital Preservation Infrastructure (DPI), which will securely store, preserve and make accessible the valuable and in many cases unique digital assets that form a significant and growing aspect of the BFI National Archive’s collections. To coincide with the implementation of DPI, the BFI now seeks to procure the necessary building work to prepare and fit out an area identified within the BFI Conservation Centre in Berkhamsted to house the new hardware, with provision of scalable and efficient power, climate and security systems. Redundancy of critical components is essential. Additionally, our aim is to consolidate certain existing BFI IT, UPS and Digital Preservation equipment into what will be regarded as the DPI Data Centre.
