Summary/Overview/Background:

OT staff need to look at issues around the adaptation and design of easily accessible Bathrooms/showers/toilets. Providing knowledge, confidence and skills to workers in this area, to include how to use plans, scale rules, problems solving and alternative methods of making the facilities accessible.

Objectives:

For staff to feel able to discuss and consider diverse service user needs, relating to bathroom and toilets and be confident in the understanding of how these can influence the adaptation or design need, eg type of room needed, positions of equipment and flooring.

For staff to gain knowledge and confidence in using the new and different equipment available

For staff to be familiar with optimum layouts and space required

For staff to be aware of recommended heights and positioning of fixtures, fittings and appliances

To increase confidence in discussing structural technicalities and safety issues

To encourage problem-solving, and using alternative methods/equipment to make the facilities fit for purpose and accessible.

Materials:

? If the Training Course is accompanied by supporting material, printing will need to be managed by the Provider.
? Any materials should also be provided electronically so that it can be used as a reference point.

Closing Date: 2 weeks after date advert appears (amend if applicable)

Interview Date(s), if required: W/C 26th August

Contract Length: The contract allows for repeat commissions within a 3 year period with options to extend for +1 + 1 years at the sole discretion of the Council.

Training Providers Agreement: You must ensure you are able to meet the requirements in the attached Training Providers Agreement as the successful supplier will be required to sign it when the contract is agreed.
