Description of the contract

The Works will consist of the Demolition and Site Clearance (footprint 3600m2) together with Asbestos Removal of parts of the 3 storey former Commercial Unit of St David’s Centre, Swansea. The Works entail apart from the main Demolition Works, separation of the Building from existing occupied Retail Units, the design and construction of temporary supporting structures, construction of permanent reinforced concrete structures, roofing works, removal and capping of drainage systems, deconstruction of 20m long structural steelwork footbridge to operational Multi Storey Car Park and removal of 10m long reinforced concrete footbridge into occupied Retail Units.

The Works may also possibly include the Demolition and Site Clearance (footprint 750m2) together with Asbestos Removal of the adjacent 8 storey former Office accommodation of Oldway House. The Building also consists of an Under – Croft type Car Park within the footprint which will be filled using recycled material from Site with removal and capping of drainage systems also included.

The Sites are in an inner City Centre location with high pedestrian footfall close to the Boundaries together with Single and Dual Carriageways, Pedestrian Footbridge, Service Yards, Multi Storey Car Parks, Listed Church Buildings, Residential and Commercial premises adjacent.

This procurement is a restricted process where the six highest scored Pre Qualified Questionnaire’s will be invited to tender. If you are interested in submitting a bid the documentation is available to download from e-tenderwales (http://etenderwales.bravosolution.co.uk) you will need to register if you are not already registered. The closing date for the Pre Qualified Questionnaire to be submitted on e-tenderwales is Tuesday 27th March 2012.

– Note the username you chose and click “Save” when complete

2. Express an Interest in the Project

– Login to the portal with the username/password

– Click the “PQQs Open to All Suppliers” link. (These are Pre-Qualification Questionnaires open to any registered supplier)

– Click on the relevant PQQ to access the content.

– Click the “Express Interest” button in the “Actions” box on the left-hand side of the page.

– This will move the PQQ into your “My PQQs” page. (This is a secure area reserved for your projects only)

– Click on the PQQ code, you can now access any attachments by clicking the “Settings and Buyer Attachments” in the “Actions” box

3. Responding to the tender

– You can now choose to “Reply” or “Reject” (please give a reason if rejecting)

– You can now use the ‘Messages’ function to communicate with the buyer and seek any clarification

– Note the deadline for completion, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the PQQ
