West Lothian Council may have a requirement for Demolition.

The tender for this requirement may be published at a estimated timescale in the region of Early November 2014.

The proposed demolitions are detailed below.

1)To demolish houses and garages to ground level within the Deans South area of Livingston. The demolition shall include the removal of fences, redundant footpaths and garden furniture/general rubbish. The Contractor shall not remove the foundations to the buildings. The area shall be backfilled with subsoil and top soil prior to having grass seed spread over the area.

2)The demolition of Lomond House comprises the complete removal of the building to ground level. Foundations to remain insitu. The area to be backfilled with subsoil/topsoil prior to grass seed. The contract shall include the uplift of hardstandings, protection of existing services and footpaths, mitigating the detrimental affect of the demolition on the surrounding businesses and offices.

3)Proposed Bathgate Community Centre Demolition, Marjory Banks Street, Bathgate, EH48 1AH

The demolition of Bathgate Community Centre comprises: the complete removal of the building including all foundations. The area shall be graded on completion with imported hardcore material. The contract shall include for installing new surface water drainage system to the lower end of the site and connecting into the existing surface water system. The Contractor shall liaise directly with surrounding residents ensuring they are informed of the works and any possible disruption during the works.

4)Proposed Demolition Of Buildings At Former Travelling People Site, Sibbald’s Brae, Bathgate, EH48 2DU

The demolition of Former Travelling people site comprises the complete removal of the former office and 23 brick outbuildings including 23 metal clad sheds to ground level within the Former Travelling People Site at Sibbald’s Brae, Bathgate. The area of the demolition shall be backfilled with imported type 1 hardcore material. The area shall be graded to the falls and gradients of the surrounding land ensuring no trip hazards are left. The contract shall protect all the existing power station, hardstanding, services and footpaths.

5)Proposed Demolition Of Old Woodmuir Primary School, Woodmuir Road, Briech, EH55 8JN

The demolition of Former Woodmuir Primary School comprises the complete removal of the former single storey primary school to solum level, including the removal of fences, redundant footpaths and garden furniture/general rubbish. One gable of the property shall be demolished by hand. The foundations and underbuildings shall be broken out and removed off site. The area shall be backfilled with broken/crushed demolition material up to 150mm below the surrounding ground levels; The area shall be capped with 150mm thick imported Type 1 hardcore material compacted and graded to the falls and gradients of the surrounding land ensuring no trip hazards are left.
