Description

Derbyshire Sport acting for Derbyshire County Council is seeking to appoint a consultant until 28th February 2015 to support sport development project work. The consultant will be required to work 2 days per week, and to work from the Derbyshire Sport office, Godkin House, Ripley.

The consultant will be responsible for delivery and implementation of specific programmes within the following work areas:
• NGB and sport specific work (including disability)
• Workforce Development (including coaching and volunteering)
• Participation
• Children and Young People
• Talent and Performance

Initial priority work areas are likely to include management of the Coaching Derbyshire Bursary Fund, coordinating and ensuring delivery of the bespoke and generic coaching course calendar, management of the Get in 2 Coaching fund and the Coaching Derbyshire website, and being the main point of contact for coaches across Derbyshire, however the consultant may be required to pick up projects in other programme areas.

The consultant will work closely with and be advised by a Sport Development Manager during the duration of the contract

The Sport Development consultant will be required to:
• Be responsible for the planning and implementation of specific programmes and projects. This will include monitoring outputs, evaluation outcomes and producing any reports required by Executive Group or funders.
• Manage any budget associated with the project delivery.
• Lead and support the development of relevant networks and forums, including liaison with external partnership groups and stakeholders.
• Represent Derbyshire Sport at local county and regional meetings and liaise with the relevant agencies at county and regional levels to ensure co-ordination of the work area.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of current initiatives/trends relevant to the programme area and provide advice, tools and materials in response to partner demand.
• Ensure the effective use of insight and marketing and communications relating to the relevant work area.
