The University is looking for an additional 1200 units of student accommodation on or adjacent to its main Frenchay campus. It is envisaged that these will be built over the next 1-5 years in 3 phases of about 400 per phase.
This first phase is for approx 400 units to be designed and constructed in townhouse style buildings, of three to four storeys . Each house will accommodate up to 8-12 bedrooms with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.
The University is interested in a solution incorporating sustainable design that enables efficient running costs.
At tender it is anticipated that the design with be at RIBA stage B and the selected contractor will be responsible for obtaining full planning permission for the buildings.

An outline planning application has already been submitted to the Council.
It is expected that this first phase will be a NEC single stage contract.
