The works involve the detailed design and construction of the Chesterfield Leisure Centre as an innovative and exciting new sport and leisure facility in Chesterfield. It should provide industry leading standards in energy efficiency and may be expected to achieve a BREEAM rating of “very good”.
The proposed Chesterfield Leisure Centre is to include:
Lobby, Foyer, Reception and Vending Area, Supporting Offices, Café/Bistro, Sports Hall to be 33 m x 27 m, Swimming Pools:
25 m x 12.5 m 6-lane pool, Teaching Pool 12.50 m x 7.00 m, Pool Equipment Store, First Aid Room, Wet Side Changing, Fitness Suite – 65 no. stations of a variety of types, 1 No. Exercise Studio, Dry Side Changing, Ancillary Rooms, Plant Rooms. External works include demolition of the existing Queens Park Leisure Centre upon completion and site landscaping providing vehicle access, car parking and piazza area.
The project will be a single stage tender process based on a Develop and Construct procurement route. The design will be developed to RIBA stage D+ prior to letting the contract. The Client’s Architect, Structural/Civil Engineers and Service Engineers shall be novated to and appointed by the successful contractor.
This notice is inviting initial expressions of interest. The organisations who wish to express interest to act as principal contractor are invited to complete a Pre-qualification questionnaire by the time limit as stated. From the evaluation of the submitted questionnaire, the contracting authority will establish a shortlist of Principal Contractors (maximum 7) to be invited to tender to complete the design and construction of the new Chesterfileld Leisure Centre. Further information is available on request in the Project Information Memorandum.

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if the requirements are met: (1) All candidates will be required to produce a certificate or declaration demonstrating that they are not bankrupt or the subject of an administration order, are not being wound-up, have not granted a trust deed, are not the subject of a petition presented for sequestration of their estate, have not had a receiver, manager or administrator appointed and are not otherwise apparently insolvent.
